About Us

Miki Travel Limited is the hub of Group Miki Holdings, specialising in putting together package tours for groups of incoming tourists from Japan and South-East Asia to Europe and also operates a busy online segment called E-Business. The Company trades with other companies in the Group and with the B2B external market. 

Summary Purpose

We are currently seeking to recruit a Finance Manager for an interim 6 month period from 31 July 2023 to 31 January 2024 within our Financial Control Department

The overall purpose of the role is to assume responsibility for both the financial reporting side (statutory accounts and audit), the management accounting side (month end close and management accounts) and completion of the monthly reporting pack for group reporting and consolidation in the format required by HIS Co. Ltd, our listed ultimate holding company in Japan.  

 Role Responsibilities

  • Posting and review of month end journals into Microsoft Dynamics 365

  • Preparation and review of selected balance sheet reconciliations

  • Review P&L postings to ensure correct allocation of department codes and to investigate for any errors in postings or variances

  • Update lead schedules pack monthly

  • Completion of Month-end reporting pack and submissions to Global finance team

  • Preparation of the monthly management accounts and commentary on variances. 

  • Responding to queries from Global Finance team

  • Responsible for liaising with the auditors and ensuring a smooth process including delivery of all audit deliverables for annual audits (July year-end) and quarterly reviews (October Q1)

  • Assist with preparation for the ABTA annual return and quarterly returns

  • Assist with preparation of the UK VAT return  

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • ACCA/ CIMA qualified

  • At least one year experience working in a similar role

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Organised and neat worker

  • High level of competence using Microsoft Excel
