The eBusiness (FIT) division consists of Sales, Purchasing and Technology.

We distribute competitive hotel rates and travel products via our B2B XML API. We connect our clients directly to the wholesalers, retailers and travel suppliers that we partner, increasing their exposure and enabling our clients to reach customers in new markets.

We conduct over 280 million searches per day through our API and we continue to grow at a rapid pace year on year.

The company is investing in their technology as the key growth enabler for the business by replacing bespoke systems with new technologies. As a result of this investment, this new role has become available in the dynamic, fast paced, AGILE eBusiness Technology team.

Job Purpose

Our business has undertaken a massive business change initiative to make changes to many of our applications that have very significant business impact and ROI. Being part of this team is incredibly rewarding as you are able to make a big impact to the business in a very short space of time and deliver working, shippable software to the business every 3 weeks.

As the QA Manager not only will you be assigned to a team & be responsible for ensuring that the QA processes are followed and adequate testing is carried out but you will also be responsible for managing a leading a team of QA team members located on and off shore.

As the QA Manager you will be obsessed with quality improvement, experienced and highly committed to creating world class quality assurance (both manual and automation) both for regression and feature testing, scripted or exploratory.

Responsibilities include understanding how all the Miki applications work, engaging with the business, developers and the analysts to ensure clear understanding of features, creation and execution of test plans, and execution of agile testing.

You will report to the Portfolio Manager and provide general and technical guidance to the onsite\offshore QA Staff in the analysis, design, testing, and deployment of all Miki applications.

Skills and Experience

Relevant Skills/Characteristics

  • BS/BA degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline
  • Software Testing certification e.g. ISTQB / QAI (CMST) / IIST.
  • Strong knowledge of AGILE QA concepts and methodologies
  • Significant software quality assurance experience
  • Experience in Team leading and mentoring QA Teams
  • Strong analytical skills, excellent problem solving, and interpersonal communication a must.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to track multiple test executions simultaneously and to be able to synthesize the results.
  • Must have a desire for achieving excellence in customer satisfaction, process and product quality and reliability.
  • Experience in agile development methodologies with continuous integration and contemporary software quality assurance processes and automated tools (testing doesn’t come last).
  • Must have experience in working with distributed team members.
  • Knowledge of internet and e-business processes, disciplines and standards.
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented with respect to documentation and communication.
  • Shows creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness.
  • Is able to work effectively in a complex, diverse, changing environment.
  • Must be an active team player with a proactive approach

Required Experience/Knowledge

Essential

  • QA automated test frameworks like Selenium WebDriver, FIT/Fitnesse
  • Agile experience
  • Experience in agile testing tools and methods, lightweight documentation styles and tools essential.
  • SQL knowledge – essential
  • XML knowledge– essential (no coding required)
  • Basic knowledge of database concepts – essential

  • Travel industry experience
  • Hotel industry experience
