Job description

We are currently seeking to recruit an Accountant within our Finance Department to be based in our London office.

The purpose of the role is to support the Financial Controller on both the financial reporting side and the management accounting side for two UK entities in the GM Holdings group.  This will involve interaction with members of the business and the group finance team.  

Company A (Main travel company)

  • Responsibility for Prepayments, fixed asset, Payroll and other accrual month end postings in company A, in line with finance timeline
  • Provide European group companies COS in week one of month end reporting
  • Submit German VAT NEC report to group companies on a timely basis
  • Responsibility for override commission, intercompany accrual, intercompany interest postings and other accrual month end postings in Company A, in line with finance timeline
  • Preparation of the UK VAT return on a quarterly basis
  • Preparation of the German VAT return on a quarterly basis

 

Company B (IT Asset owning company)

  • Responsibility for all month end postings in company B including cash book, in line with finance timeline
  • Prepare all Balance sheet reconciliations of  company B on a monthly basis in line with finance timeline
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reporting pack
  • Preparation of the UK VAT return
  • Answer all queries and provide all schedules in relation to the year end audit
  • Prepare schedules and understand the company B recharge structure to group companies and ensure information is up to date and available for company B Board meetings.

Company C

  • Creation of monthly packs including management accounts
  • Preparation of lead schedules
  • Preparation of year end reporting back for submission to group

Other

  • Authorise bank payments, as and when required
  • Complete and submit Office of National Statistic reports within deadlines set
  • Complete and maintain all financial control manuals for both company A and B, ensuring they are up to date with current work performed in month end close and other services

Skills and Experience

  • High level of competence using Microsoft Excel
  • Reliable and willing to go the extra mile to meet deadlines
  • Exemplary attendance levels to be able to support a small financial control team and the financial calendar
  • High level of confidentiality

 

Required Experience/Knowledge

Essential

  • Part ACCA/CIMA qualified
  • Evidence of managing responsibilities,  achieving targets and meeting objectives
  • Strong organisational skills

Desirable

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Control focussed, accurate with attention to detail.
  • Team orientated and responsive to adhoc requirements
